How to play

Join with the code on the TV, pick a team, answer on your phone and save your team for season points.

Joining a game

  1. Look at the TV. It shows a 5-character code.
  2. On your phone, go to barquizzes.com/play, type the code and press Join.
  3. Pick your team (see Your team below). When you see the "You're in" message, watch the TV.

No app and no account to play. Codes never use I, O, 0 or 1, so they are hard to misread. The EN | ES switch in the corner changes the language, and your phone remembers it. If you see "This game has not opened yet", wait for the host.

Your team

  1. To start a team, type a name under New team name and press Create team.
  2. To join friends who are already in, tap their team name in the list below.

Team names are 2 to 24 characters, must be different from every other team in the game, and are checked for rude words. Everyone plays on their own phone, but the team gets one answer per question.

Saving your team

  1. If you're not signed in yet, press Sign in to save your team + season points when the game ends. If you are, you go straight to the next step.
  2. Type your email, press Email me a code, then type the 6-digit code and press Sign in.
  3. Back on the game, press Save team + season points.

Saving is optional and happens after the game, so you can play first and decide later. Season points add up across the venue's games, and a saved name is reserved at that venue.

Answering and fair play

  1. The question is on the TV. Your phone shows the colored answer buttons. Tap one.
  2. You see Locked in ✓. The first answer from your team counts, and there is only one per team.
  3. When the right answer is on the TV, your phone shows whether you were right. If a question looks wrong, press Report question and choose Wrong answer, Confusing or Out of date.

Each question has a countdown of 10 to 60 seconds, set by the host. A correct answer is worth 10 points, plus up to 5 for speed when the host has that on. Please keep phones for answering only. If the host adjusts your score, you see the change and the reason under your team name. If you cannot see the TV, tick Show question on my phone.
