Polls, the wall and bingo

Run a crowd event with no trivia: polls, a message wall and bingo on the TVs.

Polls

  1. In Trivia, open Crowd → Events and press New crowd event.
  2. Name it and press Create event, then Open on TVs.
  3. Guests join with the code on the TV. No app, no account.
  4. Press Poll, write the question and the options, and press Launch.
  5. Press Close poll to end voting and show the result.

A quick pick takes 2 to 4 options. Other kinds take 2 to 6. Each option can be up to 120 characters. Saved polls wait under Saved polls with a Launch button, ready for next time.

The wall

  1. The wall is on when the event goes live. Use Wall off to switch it off and Wall on to bring it back.
  2. Guests post from their phones. New guests' posts wait for you to approve them. Press Approve to let the TV show a post, or Pull to take it away.
  3. To ask the room something, type a prompt and press Put it up. Press Clear prompt when you are done.
  4. Pause wall makes every new post wait for your approval; Wall off stops posts.

Posts can be up to 140 characters, and each guest can post once a minute. Once you approve a guest’s post, their next posts go straight up while the wall is on. Use Pause wall to hold everything for approval.

Bingo

  1. Open a live event. Under bingo, choose Classic 1–75 or Custom squares.
  2. For custom, pick a square set. Make sets under Library → Bingo squares.
  3. For Classic, choose TV calls on its own (every 8 to 20 seconds, 12 by default) or I tap Call next. Custom squares are always called by you with Call next.
  4. Press Start bingo. When someone wins, press New round to go again, or End bingo to finish.

Guests who call bingo within 3 seconds of each other share the win. A third false call locks that guest's button.

The public wall

  1. Open Crowd → Wall.
  2. Press Turn public wall on. You get a link and a snippet for your website.
  3. To change the link, edit the address and press Save address.
  4. To take a post off the site, press Pull next to it.

The public wall shows approved posts from guests who agreed to be shown, from the last 30 days. Turn it off any time.
