Using the back-of-house tablet

Sign in with your PIN, read the lineup, tick off checklists, report problems and earn points, all on the tablet.

Sign in

  1. Find your name on the tablet and tap it.
  2. Type your 4-digit PIN. Use the ⌫ key to fix a digit, or Cancel to go back.
  3. The tablet now speaks your language. To switch, press Español (or English) at the top.

No account needed, just your name and a PIN. If your name is greyed out and says Locked — see a manager, your manager unlocks you, and can also change your PIN or language.

Read the lineup

  1. Read each item in the lineup. Items shaded red are must-reads.
  2. Press I read this on every must-read.
  3. Press Got it. It is faded until every must-read is done.

A New tag means the item was added after the lineup went out. When you are finished you see ✓ You're set.

Work the checklists

  1. Under Checklists, tap an item when it is done. Your name and the time appear next to it.
  2. An item with 📷 needs a photo: tap it, take the picture and it is saved.
  3. Tapped by mistake? Press Undo next to your own item, until the list is signed off.
  4. When the list is finished, press Manager sign-off, pick a manager and let them type their PIN.

Only a manager can sign off a list, with their own PIN. Items left undone stay marked not done, and the manager sees a warning.

Report something

  1. Press Report something.
  2. Pick a category: Repair, Supply, Guest, Safety or Other.
  3. Describe it in the What needs doing? box, up to 200 characters.
  4. Press Add a photo if it helps, then press Send. You see Sent — thanks!

Your manager sees every report. If sending fails, your draft is kept for your next sign-in. Cancel throws it away.

Points, bounties and kudos

  1. Your balance and this week's rank are near the top.
  2. To take a bounty, press Claim. When it is done, press Mark done. A manager confirms it with their PIN and the points arrive.
  3. To spend points, press Request on a reward. A manager approves it. If there is no Request button, the tablet shows why, such as not enough points yet.
  4. To thank a teammate, press Give a kudo, pick them, write what for and press Send.

The week runs Monday to Sunday and resets Monday at 4 AM. Rewards are perks, never cash. Kudos give no points, but show up in the next lineup. You can give up to 10 a day.

Sign out

  1. When you are finished, press Done at the top.
  2. If you forget, the tablet signs you out after 60 seconds with no taps.

This keeps the next person from checking items in your name.
